**JOB SUMMARY**
The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in identifying and securing new business opportunities for Seadrill's Six (6) drillships in South America. This role will report directly to the Director of Business Development in Houston. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, to lead strategic planning & negotiations, client relationship development, market analysis, and a healthy collaboration with internal teams to drive growth and profitability.
**JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Market Research and Analysis**:
- Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities in the offshore drilling industry.
- Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market analysis.
**Business Strategy Development**:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to maximize asset utilization and financial returns
- Identify and prioritize target markets and clients.
- Create detailed business plans and forecasts.
**Client Relationship Management**:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their requirements.
- Act as a primary point of contact with operators.
**Proposal and Contract Management**:
- Prepare and present proposals to prospective clients.
- Negotiate contracts, close deals, and advise operations on commercial related matters during execution
- Work closely with operations, contracts, legal, finance teams to ensure contract compliance and profitability.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**:
- Ensure alignment of business development activities with overall company goals.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects.
- Prepare and present strategic reports / guidance for senior management
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
**Essential**
- Preferably prior experience of dealing with offshore drilling or energy businesses.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking, takes ownership, and is forward thinking.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in negotiations.
- Ability to work under pressure, lead initiatives, and coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Dynamic and enthusiastic team player.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English proficiency.
- Knowledge of offshore drilling operations and technologies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Commercial, Financial and contractual aspects of offshore drilling or related industry is desirable.
**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Requirements**
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Business Administration or Engineering; Extensive experience may compensate for lack of formal qualifications;
