We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Product Manager.
In this role, you will manage the software development process in collaboration with the engineering and design teams for Pet Loyalty's animal shelter software product, ShelterBuddy.
The ideal candidate will be able to analyze customer problems and lead a multi-discipline team to define, develop, release, and then iterate product improvements.
Main Responsibilities:
Facilitate sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospective meetings.
Gather and analyze customer requirements and translate them into engineering tasks.
Collaborate with the UX team on new feature designs.
Guide the team in estimating practices and facilitate software project estimates.
Drive team iteration execution, communicate with management and stakeholders, and protect the team from the uncontrolled injection of work (changes are evaluated/intentional).
Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to keep operations running at a high performance.
Able to do post-mortem and root cause analysis to help teams continuously improve their practices to ensure maximum productivity.
Define and implement improvement stories and engineering tasks to increase the velocity and quality of the product.
Proactively identify and eliminate impediments and facilitate flow.
Create and maintain team data in project management software (i.e., JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
to support estimates and execution.
Present high-level project readouts for leadership.
Support the head of product with intra-team dynamics concerning priorities and scope.
Manage other special projects as assigned.
Collaborate with the Customer Success team and provide feedback on customer enhancement requests.
Facilitate customer feedback sessions to gather and summarize feedback on software mockups and new product features.
Utilize various tools, including Jira, Confluence, Slack, Hubspot, Loom, Hotjar, and others to gather insights and feedback and execute product improvement ideas.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in product or project management roles.
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack, Whimsical, Loom, and Hotjar.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information in an accessible manner.
Empathetic and customer-focused attitude with a commitment to improving customer satisfaction of all Pet Loyalty software products.
Bonus: Experience working in an animal shelter or within the field of animal welfare.
