The Inventory Control and Transportation Manager role is a key position within our Operations Team, with a primary responsibility of maintaining inventory integrity and accuracy and serving as the hub for transportation-related activities. Combining inventory control, 3PL execution, and transportation elements, this role is not just fast-paced, but also multi-facing, requiring versatility and adaptability. The candidate will be responsible for bridging incoming inventory from our suppliers, sales orders across all channels, execution at our 3PL partners, and driving best-in-class transportation management.
We are looking for an experienced, team-oriented leader with a bias for action. The role requires a strong analytical individual with robust process and systems skills (NetSuite, Amazon Seller Central, 3PL WMS, etc.).
Responsibilities: Main point of contact for 3PLs to manage daily/weekly fulfillment activities. Take charge and orchestrate our efforts supporting the Transfer Order process for Amazon, including updates to NetSuite and Seller Central in close coordination with the DTC team. Using our ERP system (NetSuite), records, maintains, and analyzes inventory transactions. Prepares detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments daily, weekly, as well as monthly, contributing to month-end financial close activities. Using such reports, predicting potential inventory problems to proactively prevent the problems. Develop and manage with 3PL partners cycle count programs and/or complete inventory count of all stock and supplies twice a year. Responsible for evaluation of 3PL performance against orders and SLAs. Lead import and outbound transportation purchasing and coordination to best serve our company and customers in the most time-efficient and cost-effective manner. Coordinate, schedule, and monitor all imports from overseas manufacturing partners as well as inbound freight from domestic suppliers aligning with arrival requirements/need by dates. Determine alternate routes depending on vessel and port capacities, space limitations, and delays. Proactively work to resolve all shipping exceptions while goods are in transit. Manage all required documentation for all inbound logistics. Work with Domestic LTL and truckload services (outbound domestic truck transportation) to ensure client deliveries meet promised service levels and costs. Monitor, track, and update systems for status. Develop and maintain a transportation dashboard to include key metrics such as transportation trends, spend analysis, volume, outlook, SLA, etc. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an analytical field. Working/applied understanding of warehouse and kitting operations. Experience in building strong working relationships with external parties, such as suppliers, vendors, and 3PL partners. Working knowledge of NetSuite highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role. Outstanding organizational, and problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Applied advanced knowledge of data analysis, and advanced Excel skills. Working knowledge of data visualization software is highly preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
