Support we provide to companies Norwest's Portfolio Services platform includes proprietary strategic resources that give our portfolio companies a distinct advantage over their competition. We are focused on delivering the unwavering, value-added support that our companies require to scale their businesses. Our team is comprised of seasoned experts in key areas including Talent & Retention, M&A Advisory & Capital Markets, Sales & Marketing, Business Development, People Advisory/HR, Operations Strategy, Finance, and DEI and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). Our suite of advisory services and a connected network help our founders and their teams identify experts and resources while our community platform provides online and in-person forums for networking, learning, and sharing best practices.
About the Growth Equity Team Norwest's Growth Equity team works with high growth and profitable businesses (often founder- and management-led) to help them accelerate growth and value. The team focuses across multiple sectors within Enterprise B2B and consumer products and services. We have enjoyed top quartile performance over the past ~15 years by leveraging our differentiated deal origination and value-added partnership model. The majority of our transactions have been proprietary or advantaged deals with limited intermediary involvement.
Responsibilities: Our Business Development Consultant will provide support across enterprise and consumer investments. This role will report to the head of Business Development for Growth Equity at Norwest and is a contract position. In this position you will:
Identify potential investment opportunities for the investment team Increase proprietary / advantaged deal flow and pipeline consistency – help the team build and maintain pipeline through high volume outreach to prospective leads via LinkedIn and email Conduct extensive market research identifying companies in both consumer and enterprise sectors that meet our investment mandate and synthesize findings for investment team Assist with data hygiene and updating of database Complete one off projects as needed, such as screening lists for upcoming conferences, mapping out a subsector thesis, etc. What you bring: Bachelor's Degree Exposure to or interest in investing (internships, investment clubs, etc.) Must possess hustle, creativity, resourcefulness and high tolerance and endurance for trial and error when it comes to sourcing Fluency, maturity and enthusiasm for interfacing directly with CEOs and owners of companies via written communication Strong written and oral communication skills in English Prior business development or sales experience a plus Prior market research experience a plus Must also be a proven self-starter with interest working in a very collaborative team Perks: Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to innovative projects.
