**Legal Director - Ebury Brazil - Ebury Bank**
**Ebury São Paulo - 4 days a week office based working - 1 day per week flexible working from home**
The Legal Department at Ebury is core to the functioning of the Ebury Group. It provides front-line advice to all parts of the Ebury Group on legal, regulatory and governance matters which contribute to Ebury's growth every day.
The role will be based in São Paulo, Brazil.
Key responsibilities for you and legal team members include:
- drafting and negotiating agreements required to support Ebury's business and operational activity with third parties and on an intragroup basis;
- contributing to the design and implementation of new products and expansion into new markets;
- structuring and executing strategic initiatives such as negotiations with banking partners and M&A activity;
- drafting and advising on relationship agreements and other terms with customers, including foreign exchange and lending agreements;
- working with Front Office, Risk Department, HR, Operations and other departments to resolve day-to-day queries;
- representing Ebury in interaction with clients, counterparties, banking partners, industry bodies and other third parties;
- preparing templates, playbooks, procedures and self-service material and participating in the provision of relevant training and awareness programmes;
- supporting the General Counsel in delivering the Legal Department's objectives generally, sharing knowhow and training and development of less experienced members of the team;
- managing all legal team members in the region.
Key skills requirements include:
- a proactive mindset and an ability to communicate effectively in practical terms with stakeholders at all levels of the Ebury Group;
- Brazilian qualified lawyer with lending, derivatives and/or regulatory law experience;
- experience in managing a team of lawyers and enhancing the governance of the legal function within the business;
- at least 8 years of post qualification experience, either in private practice or in house;
- interest in the fintech sector and financial products; and
- an ability in a fast paced environment to prioritise and manage a wide range of competing priorities (with support from other team members and external counsel where necessary).
- Fluency in both Portuguese and English is essential.
