The RTL will serve as the technical analysis and administrative head of the region, supporting and supervising country-level field offices, ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables, and representing FEWS NET in regional fora.While the preference is for candidates to be based in Sri Lanka, highly qualified candidates who are based in other select countries in which FEWS NET 8 operates with legal work authorization may be considered.
Countries are as follows:Asia region: Afghanistan, Burma, Nepal, and PakistanFEWS NET is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and aims to provide timely, accurate, and evidence-based food security early warning information and analysis.Responsibilities include:Oversee the fulfilment of monthly reporting requirements for countries in the region.Ensure integrated food security analyses classify and communicate the severity of acute food insecurity.Support the DS Team in meeting USAID's expectations on timely delivery of decision support products.Support field offices in maintaining a knowledge base relevant to food security.Provide high quality and effective early warning of acute threats to food security.Develop and update regional seasonal monitoring plans.Represent the FEWS NET DS Team at meetings within the food security network.Supervise, mentor, and support the professional development of Country Technical Leads (CTLs).Lead recruitment efforts for regional office technical and administrative staff.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; advanced degree is desirable.Minimum fifteen years of relevant experience with a Master's degree, or 17 years with a Bachelor's degree.Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team.Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and report writing skills.Proficiency in written and spoken English; other local language skills are desirable.Location and Reporting:The RTL will be based in Colombo, Sri Lanka and is supervised by the deputy chief of party-field operations (DCOP-FO).Chemonics is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate in its selection and employment practices.Apply By:Application instructions:Please apply using the following link by December 2, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET.
