The CDC Specialist supports the Corporate Classification and Documentation Center's daily work by performing duties as assigned and following established policies, procedures, and standards.
**What You Will Do**
- Provides feedback as necessary to Field Surveyors and other CDC personnel.
- Responsible for preparing, filing, and invoicing of Confirmation
- and Maintenance of Class Certificates.
- Responsible for issuance and filing of Class Statements for the Flag States.
- Set up an online account, provide support, carry out performance tests (daily) on MyEagle for Clients, and investigate and report (ITG) defects.
- Monitors and inputs survey-related information for vessels as submitted by field Surveyors for facilities, including entry of data into the electronic reporting system.
- Engages in contact with clients, internal and external, to resolve problems within the area of responsibility.
- Maintains document control for the area of responsibility.
- Provide guidance, training, and supervision to other CDC Specialist(s) as assigned.
- Makes recommendations to Managers for improvements.
**What You Will Need**:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.
- Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, pertinent information relative to assigned area of technical expertise.
- Responsiveness to customers.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Ability to reference structural plans and to have a good understanding of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.
- Knowledge of ships' engineering systems and machinery.
- Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions.
**Reporting Relationships**:
The incumbent reports to a Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Manager, or above. This position does not have any direct reports.
