Fully knowledgeable in all aspects of MPD operations, equipment and control systems on floating drilling vessels and the application of the different MPD variants.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
The ability to prepare operational procedures which shall be approved by the MPD manager, any changes to existing procedures shall also be approved by the MPD manager.
Maintain records of inspections and certification of MPD equipment and tools.
Ensure the Company Rig Maintenance System (AIM) for the MPD department is current and updated accordingly.
Oversee and organize equipment preparation for impending MPD operations.
Lead and liaise with MPD manager on large maintenance activities such as IRJ 12 monthly inspection.
Involvement in third party MPD service providers installation, operations and associated activities.
Ensure that MPD well control requirements are in place according to operational requirements; document MPD well control events and report to global MPD team.
Ensure Requisition Purchase Orders for equipment or parts necessary to keep the MPD operation free of downtime are tracked.
Ensure MPD sparing inventory is adequate for operational forecast.
Maintain proper communication with the Brazilian offshore MPD teams regarding the progress of MPD and associated operations.
Ensure that Transocean troubleshooting processes are implemented and followed through to completion.
Ensures MPD operating and testing procedures associated with the PDCL in RMS are followed at the job site and updated using the AAR and change request processes.
Ensures maintenance procedures in RMS associated with equipment are followed at the job site and updated using the AAR and change request processes.
Ensures QA/QC checks and hold points are embedded to the IBWM plan.
Ensures QA/QC checks and hold points are correctly applied during IBWM execution.
Ensure pro-active planning of all MPD maintenance activities.
Coach MPD teams on correct use of IBWM Project planning tools.
Assists build MPD IBWM plans/work scopes.
Ensure IBWM operations follow IBWM workflow requirement and monitors execution.
Actively support the IBWM strategy, planning, execution, and AAR process.
Performs audits of offshore MPD operations.
Provide technical support during MPD Downtime situations as directed by the MPD Manager; follow the troubleshooting protocols and assist MPD Manager as required to coordinate the troubleshooting process between the rig teams, technical support, and the OEM.
Ensures rig MPD teams are actively sending components ashore for control equipment forensic investigations.
Share technical findings and recommendations with MPD Manager.
Assist MPD Manager with long term planning relating to MPD Equipment including project planning, equipment upgrades, recertification, rig stacking/preservation and certification Management.
Ensure rigs are correctly following up on MPD alerts and bulletins distributed through RMS.
Promote and maintain good working relationships with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer representatives.
Ensure MPD personnel meet the training requirements as per their applicable training matrix.
Mentor, coach, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent in MPD operations.
Provide leadership and motivation to the drilling crews with regards to MPD operations.
Apply continuous improvement process.
Mentor the Driller and assistant driller in MPD operations.
Carry out MPD operations in alignment with TOI MPD training philosophy.
Assist in training to ensure that all personnel are competent to perform their allocated jobs.
Participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process.
Apply appropriate accountability regarding recognition; recommend promotion or disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
Education
Minimum Required - Some College
Preferred Level - Bachelor's Degree, Trade School or College
Experience
Minimum Required - 8 years MPD supervision
Preferred Level - 10 years MPD supervision
Skills
Minimum Required - Well control supervisor level
