**Responsibilities**:
- Study the safety conditions of workplaces, facilities, and equipment, especially with a view to the problems of risk control, waste generation, occupational hygiene, ergonomics, fire protection and sanitation.
- Plan and develop the implementation of techniques related to risk management and control
- Inspect, evaluate, carry out surveys, arbitrate, issue technical reports and indicate control measures on the degree of exposure and aggressive agents of physical, chemical and biological risks, such as: atmospheric pollutants, noise, heat, radiation in general and abnormal pressures, characterizing unhealthy and dangerous activities, operations and locations.
- Analyze risks, accidents and failures, investigating causes, proposing preventive and corrective measures and guiding statistical work, including with respect to costs
- Propose Occupational Safety policies, programs, rules and regulations, ensuring their observance
- Support on projects for security systems and advise on the development of projects for works, installations and equipment, giving opinions from the point of view of Safety Engineering
- Study installations, machines and equipment, identifying their risk points and designing safety devices
- Evaluate the fire protection systems designs, coordinate firefighting and rescue activities, and support in plans creation for emergencies and disasters
- Specify, control and inspect collective protection systems and safety equipment, including individual protection and fire protection systems, ensuring their quality and efficiency
- Participate in the specification for the acquisition of substances and equipment whose handling, storage, transport or operation may present risks, following the control of receipt and dispatch.
- Review and improve plans aimed at creating and developing accident prevention.
- Guide the specific training in work safety and advise on the development of general training programs, regarding Work Safety.
- Participate in work meetings with other Recurrent Energy Power Services teams, representing the interests of Health and Safety.
- Actively participate in the inspection of the activities of contracted companies regarding Health and Safety issues.
- Collect, criticize, validate, compile data and submit them to the higher management of REPS;
- Monitor indicators and define ways to improve the performance of both REPS and its contractors in terms of Health and Safety.
- Identification and monitoring of compliance with legal requirements by REPS.
- Monitoring and improving the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
**Requirements**:
- Complete Technical Education in health and safety
- Training Area: Occupational Safety and related areas
- Active CREA
- Training Area: courses and/or training in safety and health management and/or related areas.
- Solid experience as Health & Safety technician in primary and secondary industry types as Energy, oil & gas, construction, civil or mechanical heavy industry.
- Experience in renewables is an asset.
- Experience in energy sector is an asset.
- Good communication skills, able to create and maintain good relations with the different stakeholders in the organization, good leadership skills and good management skills.
- Intermediate English is an asset.
