Position Overview
As a Payroll Administrator - Brasil, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations for the Brasil payroll, ranging from 60 to 200 employees. Based out of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte office, this position will manage timesheets, third-party payroll processing, consolidated project allocations, and maintain payroll control records. The Payroll Administrator - Brasil will collaborate with Invenergy's Senior Manager, International Payroll in Chicago, USA and local HR team in Natal. This position will also play an integral role in systems implementations and process improvements.
**Responsibilities**:
- Process semi-monthly payrolls for growing workforce in Brasil, including terminations and vacation off cycle payments
- Liaise with in country partners on payroll calculations, employee payments and third
- party payments to benefit providers
- Manage time sheet collection and prepare project time allocations
- Manage allowances/benefits and register new hires in program
- Maintain the employee work rules and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures
- Monitor local policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness among employees
- Advise management and employees on Brazilian labor law and union regulations
- Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions informing employees and managers of local employment requirements and working hour rules
- Ensure that all local laws and compliance matters are followed
- Audit monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll and tax reports, filings, and government notifications
- Prepare company registration details for registration of new sites in different states/provinces
- Develop processes and procedures for the payroll function in accordance with business requirements
- Create and run reports as requested by internal parties (Workers Compensation, Accounting, Asset Management, Site Manager, etc.).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as HR, Accounting, and Treasury
- Demonstrate a high level of responsiveness to inquiries and requests from managers and employees
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Assist with design and implementation of new time and absence systems
**Required Skills**:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven knowledge of Brasil payroll concepts, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with Brasil labor law, HR compliance and legal issues
- English and Portuguese fluency, both written and verbal
- Ability to partner with and manage vendors
- Strong analytical and mathematic skills
- Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly, and annual department driven deadlines
- Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office products is required
- Strong coordination and organization skills with attentiveness to deadlines and accuracy
- Experience supporting employees and understanding of the employment context in Brazil
- Experience with implementing a time keeping systems a plus
- Experience working for a multinational company a plus
- Desire and ability to assist with new HR efforts and initiatives within a growing, fast-paced organization
