**Job Description Summary**: As a member of Plant Management ensure a safe working environment, a high level of quality in products and processes, a high level of productivity, and employee well-being by planning, directing, and monitoring all production activities within an assigned area.
**Main responsabilities**:
- Ensure all areas comply with health and safety requirements to
create an accident free environment
- Ensure all production activities comply with quality
requirements
- Understand current performance situation at a blade level.
Review in detail the last blade performance, quality, and cycle
time trends, and identify blade trends measures to reduce costs
- Track man hour status against standard process times
- Define skill profiles, and determine training requirements of
assigned w orkers
- Monitor team performance
- Manage annual performance interviews for all direct reports
- Ensure proper induction of new team members
- Coach team members on how to perform their role
- Recommend or initiate personnel action such as disciplinary and discharge measures
- Spend a reasonable amount of each day managing by
walkabout
- Monitor weekly and monthly production plans, and ensure delivery
- Ensure all shifts start and finish on time, and that all shifts complete their shift checklist tasks
- Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with the Work
Instructions
- Ensure all visual control boards are always up to date
- Communicate area performance on a daily/w eekly basis as per balanced scorecard requirements
- Attend daily production meetings, communicate production status, and flag up critical issues that need additional support
- Conduct end of shift performance review, develop recovery
actions, and resolve any resource conflicts betw een blades
- Flag up critical job delays that w ill cause deviation to the standard process to the Plant Manager/Director
- Conduct w eekly 5S/LMPS audits
- Co-ordinate and liaise w ith other area managers to review how their performance is impacting other area performance
Liaise w ith other blade production managers in LM Wind Pow er plants to understand best practices
Facilitate Kaizen w orkshops and continuous improvement activities as required
Provide feedback to other Blade Production Managers
information on lessons learnt
Improve w ork shop conditions & ergonomics
**Required Qualifications**:
Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or Business Management
Proven track record from a broad range of positions as an Engineer or Supervisor.
Demonstrating a high of level understanding of organizational practices and production technology.
Blade Production Know ledge, Lean, TPM, Kanban & Six Sigma know ledge,
Health, Environment & Safety knowledge, Awareness on ISO 14001 (HSE) & OSHAS 18001 systems.
Fluent Portuguese
Advanced English
