We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Software Test Engineer to join our team and lead our efforts in ensuring our video games meet accessibility standards and guidelines.
The QA Accessibility STE will be responsible for developing and executing test plans to validate game features and functionality from an accessibility perspective across multiple platforms and input devices.
Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement comprehensive test plans to validate accessibility features and compliance with standards like WCAG, European Accessibility Act, CVAA, etc.
- Execute manual and automated tests for accessibility across game builds on different platforms (console, PC, mobile) - Identify accessibility issues, log defects, and work closely with developers to resolve them - Stay up-to-date on latest accessibility standards, guidelines, laws/regulations, and testing methodologies - Collaborate with game designers and developers early in the development cycle to ensure accessibility is considered - Provide guidance and training to other QA team members on accessibility testing best practices - Develop tools and frameworks to improve accessibility test coverage and efficiency Required Skills & Experience: - 3+ years of experience in game testing or software QA, preferably with focus on accessibility - Strong understanding of accessibility guidelines like WCAG, Section 508, European Accessibility Act, CVAA - Expertise in manual and automated accessibility testing techniques across different platforms - Experience with assistive technologies like screen readers, speech recognition, alternative inputs - Ability to understand game design requirements and translate them into test scenarios - Excellent communication and documentation skills - Problem-solving skills with an eye for detail - Passion for video games and delivering great user experiences - Experience with accessibility testing tools and frameworks Preferred Qualifications: - Certification in accessibility testing (e.g.
CPACC) - Knowledge of game engines and development processes - Understanding of human-computer interaction principles
