Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Senior Accountant with a strong work ethic and leadership capabilities to join our hiring partner's team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in senior living accounting and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
This role will involve overseeing staff accountants and accounts payable coordinators, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the financial operations of our clients.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Account Reconciliation: Perform regular account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in all financial records.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor and report on variances.
Leadership: Supervise and mentor staff accountants and accounts payable coordinators, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional support to senior living operators, addressing their accounting and financial inquiries promptly and professionally.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Stay updated on industry regulations and standards.
Multi-entity Management: Handle financial operations for multiple senior living communities, including managing different entities and bank accounts.
Client Portfolio Management: Own relationships with a portfolio of communities, being responsible for their income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and accounts payable.
Qualifications: Fluent proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CRC (Conselho Regional de Contabilidade) certification.
Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior living environment preferred (not a must, but a nice-to-have!).
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Proficient in accounting software (ideally Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Exceptional customer service mindset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Experience with multi-entity accounting preferred.
US company experience is a plus.
Work Environment: This position can be remote, in-person, or hybrid, offering flexibility to suit the candidate's preferences and needs.
