**The Role**:
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives in the Financial Reporting, Treasury & Tax team but will also partner with the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
- Be responsible for supporting the timely and accurate delivery of the financial and management reporting requirements of the Group. Primary responsibilities include supporting all financial reporting obligations, monthly management reporting (including revenue accounting), month end close process, annual audit and statutory reporting and preparation of all tax obligations of the Group.
- Contribute to a pro-active culture and effective system of controls to appropriately manage risk and compliance with a continuous focus on process improvement and automation.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Adhere to the month end close timetable and completing deliverables to set deadlines.
- Prepare and post of journal entries.
- Maintain and reconciliate balance sheet accounts with proper documentation and records of transactions.
- Ensure accuracy of the general and subsidiary ledgers and compliance with accounting policies.
- Manage accounting for revenue, including revenue recognition journals, revenue and margin analysis, work in progress and deferred revenue reconciliations.
- Provide technical accounting support in conjunction with the Finance Manager, including preparation of accounting position papers.
- Analyse and report on variances to prior month, budget and forecast including value add commentary, in conjunction with FP&A team.
- Support with preparation of audit schedules, liaising with auditors.
- Support with preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting policies and financial reporting standards.
- Assist with preparation of tax returns for the Group including:
- Monthly or quarterly BAS/GST/indirect tax returns.
- Group and local annual income tax returns.
- Preparation of tax return work papers for external tax providers.
- Support with completion and lodgement of other Group compliance requirements as required.
- Assist with use of leasing software and ensure all ROU assets and liabilities are accurately recorded and appropriately accounted for.
- Ad hoc projects/tasks as required.
- Supporting requests from related party entities.
- Support integration of acquisitions.
- Ad hoc analysis.
- Attend essential training to keep required qualifications up to date.
- Carry out other reasonable duties, participate in special projects.
**What skills and experience you bring**:
- Secondary Education Completed.
- BSc Degree or equivalent in Accounting /Finance or related field.
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant-ACCA/Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
- Minimum 2 years' post qualified experience in a similar role in the field of financial accounting.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Outcome and results driven; opportunity focussed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to meet unexpected workflow demands and strict deadlines.
- Detail orientated, with a high degree of accuracy balanced with a pragmatic approach.
- Ongoing focus on process improvement initiatives to streamline Finance activities.

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

- Previous experience making improvements to processes and systems an advantage.
- Ability to cover during Sydney business hours (9AM - 5PM AEST).
