Job Summary:
Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc.
Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.
May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns.
May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.
Ensures payroll is processed with speed and accuracy.
Assists with third party payroll system implementations and upgrades.
Works directly with employees to resolve outstanding payroll inquiries.
Ensures timely and accurate input of employee status and pay changes from employee, other departments, etc.
Interprets pay policies, (e.g., vacation, workers compensation, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
Ensures company compliance with government mandated payroll requirements.
Stays current with changes in the law.
May prepare tax reports and related documentation.
Documents payroll processes and procedures.
Prepares payroll-related journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
Prepares and creates standard and ad hoc reports.
Job Responsibilities:
Understand and adhere to all corporate policies, including but not limited to ACI Code of Ethics and Global Information Security.
Performs accounting functions for various general ledger accounts, which involves the preparation of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
Alerts management of potential internal control issues or non-compliance with policy.
Completes special accounting projects assigned by management.
Calculates and enters domestic payroll data into payroll systems.
Accounts for payroll transactions and reconciles related general ledger accounts.
Monitors and ensures compliance with company policy, payroll tax, and employment laws.
Maintains payroll records.
Provides customer service to employees with payroll-related questions.
Provides internal and external audit deliverables.
Prepares and creates standard and ad hoc reports.
Prepares tax reports.
Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the job:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Experience in IFRS (NIIF).
5+ years of related experience.
Experience in preparing tax reports.
Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Word.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle confidential information.
Bilingual – English.
Desirable knowledge in Siigo accounting software.
