Job Title: Accounting Controller - Logistics Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil Responsibilities: 1. Brazil Book Management: - Directly oversee and manage the accounting functions related to the Brazilian book for our logistics operations. - Ensure precise and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with local and international accounting standards. 2. Local Accounting and Tax Compliance: - Stay abreast of changes in Brazilian accounting and tax regulations relevant to the logistics industry, ensuring strict compliance. - Collaborate with external accounting service providers, local authorities, external auditors, and tax advisors to address any issues and ensure statutory compliance. 3. External Service Provider Oversight: - Manage relationships with external accounting service providers specific to logistics operations. - Provide clear guidance on reporting requirements and ensure the timely delivery of services, with a focus on the unique financial aspects of the logistics sector. 4. Financial Planning and Analysis: - Assist in the preparation of comprehensive financial forecasts, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, tailored to the logistics business model. - Conduct market benchmarking to analyze and compare the company's financial performance against industry standards, identifying areas for optimization and growth. 5. Logistics Financial Reporting: - Develop and present accurate and insightful financial reports for logistics management review. - Conduct variance analysis, providing strategic insights into the financial performance of logistics operations. 6. Language Proficiency: - Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Chinese languages to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. 7. Cross-functional Collaboration in Logistics: - Collaborate closely with logistics and operations teams to obtain necessary financial information and support strategic decision-making. - Work collaboratively with the global finance team to ensure uniformity in financial reporting and adherence to company policies across logistics operations worldwide. 8. Process Improvement: - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function within logistics. - Streamline financial workflows, implement best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes in logistics operations. Qualifications: 1. Education: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus. 2. Experience: - Proven experience as an Accounting Controller or similar role, preferably within the logistics industry. - Extensive experience dealing with Brazilian accounting and tax regulations in the context of logistics operations. - Previous experience in overseeing external accounting service providers within the logistics sector. - Demonstrated expertise in financial forecasting and market benchmarking within logistics. - 7-10 years of relevant experience is required. 3. Language Skills: - Proficiency in Portuguese and Chinese is mandatory. - Proficiency in English is a plus. 4. Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 5.
