Administrative Duties:
Ensure the Medical centre operates and provides healthcare services within stipulated operating hours at all times.
Staff Management: attendance to duty, absenteeism, leave, performance, staff discipline and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Report all incidents that occur within the stipulated guidelines.
Ensure the Medical centre has sufficient supply of required equipment, stationery and drugs.
Ensure all the required licenses are obtained, remain current and displayed within the Medical centre premises.
Regular review of quality standards and take necessary steps to ensure compliance of the Medical centre under various regulations, laws and authorities e.g.
County Government, Licensing bodies.
Ensuring the duty rota is in place by 25th of every month for the coming months and well posted in the notice boards.
Ensuring that the medical Centre has functional medical equipment and their optimal utilization and repair in case of breakdown or malfunction.
Ensuring a timely solution for any grievance that has arisen from a patient related to clinical practices, and ensure that all patient's complaints/feedback are acknowledged promptly, and handled effectively.
Conduct regular meetings with staff and give an update on medical centre performance, Quality of care and staff related issues.
Monitor the performance of the Medical Centre in terms of revenue & profitability against targets and take corrective steps as required.
Ensure that the service rendered far exceeds the patients' expectations and meets the standards set by company in its operating manual, complies with medical practices and set laws.
Ensure that the medical centre has sufficient staff at all times.
Ensure maintenance of highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness at the medical center, its surrounding and the staff at all times.
Undertake cost optimization initiatives such as reducing the usage of consumables, monitoring fixed costs, variable costs, overheads etc.
Ensure all utility bills: water, electricity, rent is paid on time.
Monitoring patient waiting time and solving any cause of delays.
Ensure that the medical center is maintained in accordance with expected standards as repairs and.
Clinical Duties:
Patient clinical management at Medical Centre: Diagnosis and treatment of patients by taking proper history, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, making appropriate diagnosis and performing routine medical and surgical procedures and prescription of treatment for all patients.
Proper documentation of EMR (Electronic Medical records).
Oversee the efficient referral of patients in liaison with other departments to other practitioners for further management.
Provide education to the patient and relatives/caregivers.
Manage medical emergencies by ensuring emergency medical preparedness as the emergency team leader and ensure emergency drills are performed.
Duly document all Incidences and manage accordingly.
In conjunction with consultants, work to provide specialized care to clients.
Provide effective supervision to nurses including objective setting, performance management, and mentoring, enhancing clinical acumen and ensure staff productivity is optimized.
Collecting, compiling and submission of accurate clinical reports and any other required documentation.
Lead the department in development, implementation and review of Standard Operating Procedures for the assigned department aimed at providing safe and quality healthcare to patients.
Attend departmental meetings to build teamwork, communicate, identify problems and agree on solutions, evaluate departmental performance etc.
Monitor adherence to the standardized hazardous and other waste disposal technique including all IPC measures.
Actively participate in projects of quality healthcare such as CME's, health talks, rational prescription audits, mortality audits, medical camps.
Conduct mortality audits for all deaths occurring in the facility together with other staff working in the unit and share the reports with the supervisor.
Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education, Experience & Skills:
At least a Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Clinical medicine and Surgery or its equivalent with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role in a busy Hospital.
Registered by the respective professional body e.g.
Clinical Officers Council of Kenya.
Valid Practice License.
BLS/ACLS Certification where applicable.
Wide knowledge of the healthcare industry.
Strong business acumen.
Proficiency in computer application.
Proven leadership, communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Swahili).
Ability to work under minimum supervision and manage a team.
