Job descriptionProvide technical support to customers and manufacturing to answer questions and assist in root cause analysis of technical issues.
Manage new developments, including proposal phases, product definition, supplier development, product validation, start of production (SOP) and post-SOP support, meeting project objectives such as financial KPIs, timelines and product quality.
Develop product design and application proposals, including FMEA reviews, drawing and modeling (CAD), finite element analysis (FEA), and system calculations to meet customer specifications and validation test requirements.
Develop and support cost reduction and product streamlining initiatives.Main responsibilitiesAwareness of IATF 16949 Quality management systems is required.Develop product design proposals including system calculations to meet customer specifications and test requirementsProvide leadership and guidance for the Sales team by developing design proposals to meet customer specifications, certifications, and documentation requirements (specification analysis, selection, estimate & costing, quotation).
Liaising with Dana Global Industrial team when necessary.Utilize the resources of the various support groups to provide an optimized design which can be manufactured economically and according to the project timing requirementsFollow Program Management and Stage Gate development processes to meet project goals including budget, timing, and quality of delivery for identified projects.
Document lessons learned and update procedures as applicableLead product development and validation activities including: DFMEA, design reviews, drawing and model creation (CAD), finite element analysis (FEA), prototype builds, DV/PV testing, NVH verification, design for manufacturing, stack-ups, and key supplier developmentShall be able to create workflow (EWO, SR etc.)
