**Job Description**:
We are currently recruiting for a **full-time Analyst / Associate **to join the Direct Equity Investments Latin America team.
**Based in São Paulo, Brazil** and reporting to the Managing Directors based in São Paulo, the Analyst / Associate will play a key role in investing in companies in Latin America.
Direct Equity Investments Latin America ("DEILA") is a regional program dedicated to investing through a broad and flexible mandate that incorporates private equity (directly and through funds) and public equities.
The group establishes long-term partnerships with like-minded investors, reputable families, management teams and strategic players to support long-term growth and value creation.
The Analyst / Associate will work on deal teams to source and evaluate potential opportunities primarily focusing on private equity and/or relevant public equities investments.
The Analyst / Associate is expected to perform in-depth financial analysis, conduct research and due diligence work, develop investment recommendations, and monitor performance of investments.
**Role Specific Accountabilities**:
- ** Evaluation and execution of new investments in Latin America**
- Research, analyze and evaluate investment opportunities across multiple industries
- Conduct due diligence work on industries and companies and develop investment theses
- Build in-depth and dynamic financial models and analyses to assess performance and outlook of investment opportunities
- Perform valuation work to estimate the value of target companies and investment returns
- Prepare internal memorandums and present recommendations to investment committees
- Execute new investments in coordination with internal departments, external advisors and counterparties
- Assist in the review and negotiation of transaction agreements and other legal documentation
- ** Asset management**
- Monitor financial and operational performance of portfolio companies
- Meet with management teams to review and discuss results, strategy, outlook, among other topics
- Perform valuation review of portfolio companies
- Support CPP Investments' representatives as board members of portfolio companies
- ** Team building, development and engagement**
- Be a strong culture carrier demonstrating CPP Investment's guiding principles

**Qualifications**:
- At least 1 year of full-time experience in investment banking, private equity or venture capital
- Deep knowledge of financial modeling and valuation
- Solid analytical, and problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Business judgement, financial acumen and passion for evaluating investment opportunities
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree
- High levels of academic performance and intellectual curiosity
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese; Spanish is considered an asset
- Ability to communicate in a structured and effective manner in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
- Strong interpersonal and business relationship skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines and working under pressure
- Professionalism, accountability and integrity
