JOB PURPOSE
The central engineer will drive innovation in site maintenance, ensuring budget efficiency and safety compliance.
They will lead the standardization of spare parts coding in SAP and foster local supplier development to enhance operational excellence.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alongside other departmental managers to ensure the overall site repairs and maintenance budget is within target.
Manage all maintenance and service contracts, ensuring best value for money.
Look for improvement activities to minimize departmental expenditure.
Standardize the code of spares of different machines according to the standard of SAP.
Maintain obsolete & written off engineering items & also timely disposal of those.
Develop standard operating procedures for different engineering stores related tasks and train the workforce accordingly.
Receive Engineering spare parts & Machineries.
Maintain the Engineering Stores Inventory Database through SAP.
Conduct annual appraisal of the workforce based on their performance.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPI), identifying sources of major losses related to stores items, generating project ideas and implementing improvement projects.
Develop different local suppliers of high-cost imported machine spares.
Conduct critical examination of materials, human beings, processes, and equipment for identifying and eliminating safety hazards.
Analyze preliminary & task hazards and communicate those to the workforce.
Make safety contacts with workforce & third-party workers, issuing work permits and giving safety briefings before any risky job.
Identify potential hazards, reporting near misses, non-conformances & non-compliance with OH&S systems and safety incidents/accidents.
Implement behavioral-based safety through safety contact with the employees.
Ensure compliance to Engineering to maintain a safe working environment.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Key Skills and Qualification
3-4 years' experience in a relevant role.
Graduate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or other equivalent degrees.
Good communication and influencing skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Team leadership.
