ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF IDD COMMUNITY HOMES JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
The Assistant Director (AD) is responsible for ensuring the individual is living a quality life, keeping the home in accordance with licensing regulations and in good condition, adhering to all policies and procedures, treating all Direct Support Professionals equally, managing and reporting any issues with the individuals or staff in the home; creating and developing the staffing schedule for the homes and making certain all shifts for their homes are covered. The AD participates in an on-call rotation within their region or pod.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates/promotes a culture centered on building self-directed lives with the people we support.
Takes an active role in the implementation of the Person Centered Plan.
Supports people to have control over their lives.
Helps each person we support to develop a life and a lifestyle they desire.
Assures that the persons' outcomes and behavior support plans are implemented as written and are being documented.
Provides assistance to individuals as needed.
Is aware and works at all times to help the person attain their outcomes.
Assists persons being supported to become part of their community.
Assists the person to build a culture of learning, partnership, and accountability.
Assists the person to build a life of relationships and natural supports.
Promotes the positive qualities of people at all times.
Is aware and proficient in all aspects of the person ISP, BSP, and Protocols.
Assures the individuals have a comfortable, clean, orderly, and safe living environment.
Promotes wellness; coordinates medical appointments with the agency Health Services and remains aware of the medical status of individuals.
Notifies the director in an accurate and timely manner of unusual incidents, problems, and changes in individual Person Centered Plans/ISP.
Ensures the environment remains free of hazards for the individuals we support.
Holds fire drills as assigned and records promptly on the appropriate forms.
Coordinates, prepares, and reviews the household and maintenance records and ensures they are kept accurate, completed, and up to date.
Ensures the programmatic and behavioral routines are followed as established; follows established procedures when making changes.
Evaluates and appropriately acts in emergency situations, assists as needed.
Completes grocery shopping as necessary (with individual if required; otherwise preferred).
Serves as a point person for incident management.
Completes one overnight check monthly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University in a related field and 2 years' experience working with people with intellectual disabilities or Autism.
OR
4 years' experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid PA Drivers' License.

Multiple locations (Lehigh and Northampton County Areas)
