Position: Assistant Rig Manager Location: Botafogo, RJ Reports To: Rig Manager Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Rig Manager to support our offshore drilling operations.
The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing rig operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.
This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Support: Assist the Rig Manager in daily operations, including drilling, maintenance, and crew management, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to drilling programs.
Safety Management: Promote and enforce safety protocols and practices among crew members, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
Crew Coordination: Support the scheduling and management of rig personnel, ensuring the right skill sets are available for various tasks and operations.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor drilling performance and make recommendations for improvements in processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Communication: Act as a liaison between the Rig Manager and crew, providing clear communication regarding objectives, expectations, and updates on operations.
Emergency Response: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, ensuring all crew members are trained and prepared for potential incidents.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily operations, incidents, and performance metrics, preparing reports for the Rig Manager and upper management as required.
Training and Development: Support the training and development of crew members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Experience in offshore drilling operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Certifications: Valid offshore safety and survival training certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of drilling operations, equipment, and technologies.
Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead teams, manage conflicts, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
