This is why The Nature Conservancy is driving systems innovation strategies to mainstream the role of nature in socio-economic sustainable development for the region.What We Can Achieve TogetherThe Associate Director of Donor Communications implements and manages efficient and effective communications and engagement plans to help drive the Latin America Regional fundraising strategy. They facilitate ongoing communication between all parts of the regionally dispersed development division and internal and external stakeholders, and identify communication needs and opportunities that could further enhance fundraising efforts. They develop directly and lead a team to produce donor engagement materials such as concept notes, proposals, presentations, newsletters, talking points, etc.WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOUThe Associate Director of Donor Communications implements and manages donor communication strategies and plans that align with the overall goals for the Latin America Regional development team.Responsibilities & ScopeLeads alignment of donor communications with global messaging and acts as point of contact for the Latin America Region with the Global Donor Communications and Global Campaign teams.Designs, manages, and implements multiple projects and donor communications deliverables by coordinating the work of other professionals inside and outside the organization.Manages a team of five donor communications staff members and is accountable for achievement of team business and professional development goals and objectives.Assists with creation/administration of budget, evaluates results and develops corrective strategies as needed.Leads communication initiatives through collaboration with key stakeholders.Responsibility and accountability for meeting strategic goals and objectives.Resolves complex issues independently within program area, knowing when appropriate to bring in other internal departments.Opportunity to act independently within specific program or project goals.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 8 years related experience or equivalent combination.Experience in project management, developing communications, media and engagement strategies and measuring results.Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.Experience supervising staff and team.Fluent in English and either Spanish or Portuguese.Excellent writing, presentation, communication, mediation and negotiation skills.Familiarity with communication technologies and best practices.Experience and/or understanding of communication best practices at a decentralized organization is a plus.Experience developing, implementing and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies.Ability to persuasively convey the mission of The Nature Conservancy to diverse groups including donors, board members, and the public.Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in relevant marketing disciplines.Management experience that includes ability to lead, motivate, set objectives and manage performance and conflict resolution.Fosters an environment of creativity and professional growth.What We BringTNC offers competitive and comprehensive benefits packages tailored to the individual countries where we work.
