We are seeking an experienced and innovative Software Developer to join our Seattle-based team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in software engineering, GIS mapping, and cloud services (particularly AWS), combined with a passion for data engineering. As a Software Developer, you will work on high-impact projects involving the automation of map data updates, maintaining data repositories, and ensuring reliable data flows that drive INRIX's mission.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and Maintain Software Applications:Focus on GIS mapping and data-driven systems to support INRIX's core traffic and analytics platform.
Automate Map and Data Processes:Build and manage tools for updating maps and internal datasets, leveraging AWS technologies for scalability and efficiency.
Collaborate Across Teams:Work closely with project managers, developers, and technical teams to ensure project timelines and requirements are met.
Ensure Code Quality:Adhere to design standards and best practices for maintainability, scalability, and reliability.
Interview and Assess Future Team Members:Participate in technical interviews to help build a strong, cohesive team.
Build Scalable, Efficient Systems:Contribute to designing robust systems that can handle large-scale data with reliability and efficiency.
Optimize System Performance:Regularly deploy, monitor, and optimize systems in collaboration with partner teams to ensure high uptime and minimal customer impact.
Innovate and Improve Processes:Continuously improve software processes and designs, striving for efficiency and reliability.Required skills:5+ Years in Software Development:Extensive experience in production-level software development, architecture, and design.
Strong Coding Skills:Proficiency in two or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
GIS/Mapping Technology Expertise:Experience with GIS and map data technologies is highly preferred.
Database Proficiency:Solid skills in relational, document, and key-value databases; experience with SQL or similar query languages is advantageous.
API Development:Experience in developing high-scale, RESTful APIs for data delivery.
AWS Cloud Services:Familiarity with AWS services such as Kinesis, RDS, Elasticache, S3, Athena, Data Pipeline, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Spark, EC2, ECS, CloudWatch, or Elastic Beanstalk.
CI/CD and Containerization:Knowledge of Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools, along with containerization, microservices, and cloud technologies.Type of contract: Contractor. You will be responsible for your taxes.
Contract length:12-months (minimum). Renewable contract.
