Backend Software Engineer

Zippia, Inc. is a consumer internet start-up in Silicon Valley. Our mission is to empower people with the best information and tools necessary to achieve their career aspirations. Our co-founders have worked together before and have previously started multiple technologies and internet businesses and had numerous successful exits.

Zippia is looking for a great back-end engineer to join our team. You will work with the co-founders and other passionate professionals and be part of the engineering team to design and build our kick-ass product and engineering infrastructure.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 1+ years experience in software development
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript, with JavaScript and Node.js preferred
- Experience in NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Redis.
- Experience with ElasticSearch.
- Solid understanding of RESTful systems and the principles of good API design
- Excellent problem solving and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn fast and to will to try new technologies

Nice to have:

- Experience building consumer-facing Internet service.
- Experience building highly scalable, performant, and reliable systems is a definite plus.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development.
