Proposal/Application The Bid Manager is accountable for managing an opportunity from qualification through contract award, including value proposition, strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner identification and risk management.
Lead a team of application engineers and inter-departmental support personnel to develop competitive proposals within customer defined RFP documents and timeframes.
Lead inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, project management, engineering, sourcing, finance and legal, and ensure all the required meetings and reviews occur and are correctly documented.
Understand and resolve technical, strategic and business issues.
Communicate Lessons Learned for use in future proposals.
Work with the Sales Team to develop a strategy to WIN the opportunity and communicate internally and ensuring alignment of the broader team.
Review specifications and customer supplied documentation to understand the project requirements.
Development of a bid schedule and ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to support the required work and the internal team is updated regularly and aligned.
Work with the Process Engineering Team to develop and finalize the design in alignment with the bid strategy.
Overall responsibility for the creation of the proposal and any other supporting documentation, consolidation and review of all documents being submitted.
Overall ownership for the development and consolidation of the final Costing tool, optimizing cost and schedule to drive competitiveness.
Proactively manage contractual and technical risks during review of terms or specifications, while strategically developing opportunities for margin improvement upon award.
Work with the Contracts Team, as needed, for review of Commercial Terms & Conditions and any negotiation support required.
Work with the Senior Leadership Team to obtain and document any margin, RAMP, Process or other DOA approvals as required prior to proposal submission.
Communication with the Customer, as required and coordinated with the Sales Lead.
Ensure all proposal records, Salesforce, etc., are completed and updated as required.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Advanced English level.
People management skills (direct or indirect).
Experience working in complex projects.
Basic knowledge of water treatment process & technologies.
Project management experience is desirable.
