We are looking for an experienced and accomplished Legal Director to join our team in Brazil. As a Legal Director at Johnson & Johnson, you will have the chance to positively influence our Medical Device businesses, encompassing Surgery, Orthopedics, Interventional Solutions, Visioncare, and Surgical Vision.**Responsibilities**:- Provide strategic and operational legal counsel to support all of Johnson & Johnson's Medical Device businesses in Brazil- Prepare, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements- Collaborate with essential partners to identify legal priorities and ensure compliance.- Support transformational projects to improve our distribution networks and go-to-market models- Engage with the business and global functions to ensure compliance and develop appropriate procedures- Investigate sensitive compliance issues and address governmental inquiries- Provide training to local teams on key legal topics- Support acquisition and divestiture projects- Advise on corporate matters including strategic partnerships, commercial deals, and risk assessment- Support HCC, Privacy, and other functions- Monitor and analyze critical legislation and regulations- Review legal and corporate governance structures- Manage and develop a team of lawyers and paralegals- Select and manage outside counsel and departmental budget- Lead the Law Department's strategies in Brazil- Optimize systems and processes for effective contract review and negotiation- Draft critical contract templates and standardize department processes- Engage in trade associations to shape the industry environment**Qualifications**:**Love this role? See the requirements below!**:- Graduate from an accredited law school- Member of the Brazilian Bar- Managerial experience (team of lawyers)- At least 10 years of relevant legal experience- Fluency in written and spoken English- Knowledge of Spanish is a plus- Experience working in large and/or complex organizations is a plus- Ability to advise and influence senior management- LLM in US, UK, or similar jurisdiction is highly desired- Broad-based commercial and corporate experience in Brazil is highly desired- Experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex agreements- Experience in setting up legal entities and/or joint venture projects is a plus- Strong attention to detail and familiarity with project management is a bonus.- Skill working with trade associations to shape the environment is a plus**Skills & Capabilities**:- Strong drive for results and a strong sense of ownership/accountability- Skilled in effectively collaborating with colleagues across departments, fostering proactive engagement.- Sound judgement and ability to think in a structured way- Ability to work independently and effectively across a matrixed organization- Superior communication skills- Comfortable working with diverse teams and businesses- Open-minded individual who can develop ideas and have a positive impact on others- Ability to manage conflicts in an open and constructive manner- Able to set an example and ensure high ethical and compliance standards- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and simplifying complicated issues- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills- Good self-awareness and eagerness to seek and receive feedback- Ability to take ownership for performance and development- Ability to identify, acquire, and develop high potential talent- Ability to embrace diverse perspectives and foster diversity and inclusion- Ability to engage in transparent and constructive conversationsEqual Opportunity Employer: Johnson & Johnson is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
