As a Breeder Tomato, based in Spain, you will be part of our Tomato breeding team developing varieties for the winter protected cultivation market segment. As Breeder Tomato you will be working on new varieties, plant concepts, and disease resistances, in close contact with the market they are intended for and in close cooperation with the sales team. You work alternatively in the greenhouse and the office. In addition, you are involved in:
Various breeding tasks such as phenotyping, evaluation, and administration of various selection and variety trials, both on location as abroad.International travel to judge variety trials.Setting up variety trials with different stakeholders like customers or research institutes.Taking part in strategic discussions about the breeding program.What is your added value?You are a real team player. You are proactive, creative, flexible, and solution-oriented. You like to take initiative. You have an eye for detail and are practical and pragmatic. You work in a structured manner and have excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills. Mastering the English language is a prerequisite.
