GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the OW Head of Business Development Brazil and South America, this function aims to support the development of offshore wind projects, i.e., general permitting process, stakeholder engagement, environmental, supply chain and project optimization.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
General activities:
· Identification, prospecting, development, structuring and formalisation of offshore wind business in Brazil and South America.· Support relationships with main stakeholders: regulators, authorities, communities, etc.· Support the coordination with the OW corporate team, especially with the technical team and suppliers, to ensure the project's design complies with the requirements.· Support the liaise with specific key suppliers and promote supply development.· Support the general administrative tasks.
Short-term activities:
· Coordinate with the OW corporate team to obtain all the permits required to develop the projects, including the DIPs and environmental licences.· Contribute to OW corporate team on discussions with Brazilian authorities during preparation of the offshore wind regulation.· Collaborate with preparing an environmental work plan for each project and dealing with IBAMA and other social and environmental organisms.· Support the promotion of agreements with stakeholders and monitor compliance.· Cooperate for the proper reporting and coordination with the OW Corporate Team.· Elaborate technical and related documents to assist the decision-making process of the board, including presentations, opinions and technical notes.
Medium-term activities:
· Coordination of the project development activities with OW Corporate Team, on behalf of obtaining all the documents and permits, such as the environmental license (Licença Prévia), to guarantee competitive participation in the bidding process.· Participation with the OW Corporate Team in the negotiation and analysis of legal instruments related to the development and implementation of the projects.· Coordination with the OW Corporate Team of the structuring for the company's participation in bidding processes to obtain seabed rights, concessions, and PPAs. Interacting with internal and external stakeholders to get the necessary premises for a final investment decision – fid about the projects.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
BSc/Beng/MSc degree in Economics, Law, Engineering, Administration or Public Affairs.
LANGUAGES
· Native in Portuguese. Fluent in Engligh, both spoken and written.· Spanish will be highly valued.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
· At least 3 years of experience in business development of energy projects in Brazil (offshore wind is a plus).· Experience in projects permitting in the renewable energy sector.· Experience working in international environments.· Experience with external stakeholder management.
KNOWLEDGE
· Experience in institutional dealing with Brazilian administrations.· A holistic view of the Brazilian Energy Industry.
SKILLS
· Excellent social, interpersonal, public speaking and negotiation skills.· Extreme proactivity.· Results-driven profile.· Strong capacity to synthesise and prioritise.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Location in Rio de Janeiro, travelling may be occasionally required.
