SQL Expert level Experience writing and editing ETLs Able to optimize queries for performance. Able to optimize tables for performance (keys, indices, partitions, etc). Able to read and modify existing queries and understand logic and outputs. Debugging Debug errors in automated jobs. Distinguish between transient errors and problems with code. Data Visualization Able to translate data into usable graphs that clearly show the takeaways. Ownership Must be able to unblock themselves. Independently execute day-to-day, although not necessarily week-to-week. Product Sense Able to translate stakeholder questions into appropriate data queries. Able to work directly with a stakeholder on an existing project with minimal oversight. Able to propose validations to ensure data in tables meets ballpark business expectations. Prioritization Deciding which projects to work on Sequencing large bodies of work.
