You will be working closely together with our Sales Traders, who're responsible for selling the goods.
To build and maintain a strong relationship with your current and potential suppliers, you'll be travelling several weeks a year to visit companies in Spain.
Attending expos around the world, together with your colleagues, is part of the job as well.We're looking for candidates with an excellent command of the Spanish and English language.About the roleAs a Purchase Trader you're going to be responsible for developing our supplier portfolio in Spain by expanding our business and maintaining relations with our suppliers.
An important part of the role is to visit your current and potential suppliers on a quarterly basis, and to join your colleagues at expos; International Food Connectors can be regularly found on international expos, e.g.
the Americas Food & Beverage Show in Miami, the Seafood Expo in Barcelona and the Americas Expo in Guatemala.
Depending on your focus area and the commodity you're trading in, you're attending these expos.Developing new business by actively reaching out to (potential) suppliers in Spain via phone, WhatsApp and mailNegotiating contracts and pricesBuilding and maintaining your supplier portfolioWorking closely together with your colleagues from the Logistics and Finance department to manage your businessActively managing your debtors / outstanding invoicesFollow the market trends and use these in your advantageAbout usThe Purchasing team is managed by Joost van der Eijk and is part of our Trading team (15 colleagues and counting).
Our Trading team is divided into Purchase and Sales, this means you're working closely together with one of the Sales Traders to close the deal.
Trading is our core business and the company's most fast-paced department.The International Food Connectors office currently has 30 colleagues spread across the departments of Trading, Logistics, HR, and Finance.
