They are responsible for lighting, shading, rendering, and some compositing.
We are looking for an experienced Lighting Artist with a strong background in Look Development.ResponsibilitiesDevelop shot and render passes as needed in collaboration with the compositing lead and image compositorsSubmit composited CG render elements for daily reviews to obtain feedback from supervisorsManage render scenes, light rigs and production assetsMonitor daily progress of Lighting and render requirements with leads and supervisorsTechnically and creatively promote and maintain consistent product quality and desired lookAble to work with Leads to interpret and implement client direction and feedback, confident in sharing work in progress and final work with client Art Directors, and able to communicate actions, decisions and proposals to solve project challengesBridging and briefing in client direction and briefs to artist teamClearly communicate impacts and risks to timelines and potential work rounds to client Producers through studio project management teamRequirementsMinimum of 7 years experience required in visual effects or high end commercial based workThorough understanding of techniques and technologies related to CG rendering and look developmentDemo reel demonstrating artistic and technical ability in Lighting & Look DevExperience working with NukeExperience working with Maya and VRay, or other physically plausible ray trace rendererSound understanding of production pipelinesStrong ability to multi-task, organize, and problem-solve while keeping a calm demeanor under tight deadlinesAbility to thrive as a member of a teamExcellent communication skills and attention to detail.Exceptional organizational and analytical skillsDetail oriented and focused on continual process improvement; must have a strong desire to learn from other members of the team, and to share knowledge and discoveriesDiversity & InclusionHogarth is an equal-opportunity employer.
