Prime Function:Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all machinery, equipment and engineering facilities of the hotel and also ensure that there is no breakdown of the engineering systems.At regular intervals, inspect the working condition of equipment and engineering systems and ensure that all standards are maintained.Monitor and record utility consumption and assist the General Manager to maintain efficiency.Assist the General Manager to direct and coordinate the overall activities of the Engineering Department.Conform and adhere to the policies & procedures and rules & regulations as laid down by the hotel in order to achieve the highest levels of guest service.Key Responsibilities:Engineering PlanningAssist the General Manager to identify the major facilities and equipment requirements for the department and the property.Ensure correct maintenance of all equipment in conjunction with the other user departments & stay abreast with the technological advances in surveillance & safety of equipment.People ManagementEstablish and maintain seamless coordination & cooperation with all departments of the hotel to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.Provide effective support to the team to enable them to deliver effective and efficient services.Respond to customer queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.Motivate and develop staff to ensure smooth functioning of the department.Ensure that the team is trained in all safety provisions.Financial ManagementEnsure optimal, cost effective use of the resources and educate the team on the same.Operational ManagementInspect regularly to assess the state of the buildings and of the installations.
