A typical day at work
As a CMF designer at Electrolux, you will be involved in every aspect of the design process.
This includes CMF and trend research, material innovation and storytelling, development of CMF strategy, and execution of final color, materials, and finishes for production through prototyping, developing user insights, and the development of new material technologies and manufacturing processes.
You will need to be highly detail-oriented, creative, and experienced in working in multi-functional teams.
To succeed, you will need to have active collaborative and communicative approach to build strong partnerships within Design, R&D, Purchasing teams, and external suppliers.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop digital and physical CMF presentations that illustrate a future vision for home living based on research, trend forecasting and analysis;
- Explore a wide variety of compelling color and material options through digital and physical prototypes;
- Develop, analyze, and approve final color, materials, and finishes for production;
- Communicate with suppliers during color matching process;
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, also identifying new resources for materials to ensure innovative designs;
- Independently source and maintain a comprehensive internal library of inspirational, advanced, and relevant materials and finishes;
- Collaborate with local and global Design teams, R&D, Purchasing, Business teams, and external suppliers to translate project goals into relevant design solutions;
- Understand and be fluent in the use of color measurement techniques and tools.

- Detail-oriented with the ability to create and manage highly detailed CMF specifications, and coordinate build reviews and communications;
- Understand relevant manufacturing technologies like tooling, molding, forming, and finishing processes, for plastics, metals, and glass;
- Drive excellence in product execution, ensuring materials are matched and finished as design intent and specifications;
- Actively collaborate with other design disciplines, product groups, R&D teams, and suppliers to execute projects independently in a global context;
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, or related field
- Solid CMF Design experience
- Experience and technical understanding of CMF manufacturing technologies, CMF research and testing
- Must have a strong working knowledge of 3D and 2D visualization software like Keyshot, Photoshop, & Illustrator.
Ability to rapidly explore a wide variety of colors, material, and finish options
- Expertise in trend and consumer research, understanding and translating user's needs into actionable design insights
- Good communicator: visually oriented, with good verbal skills with strong ability to communicate ideas, influencing development teams and stakeholders
- Excellent presentation skills and knowledge of visual assets (such as Adobe Suite, KeyShot, and PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English, other languages are a benefit.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
