Commercial Credit Underwriter JustiFi, a fintech company based in St. Paul, Minnesota, has developed a cutting-edge Embedded Finance Infrastructure company. This unique platform offers our partners the architecture they need to operate as Payment Facilitators and provide customers with a range of embedded fintech options. At JustiFi, we are currently seeking a Commercial Credit Underwriter to join our talented team and contribute to building our exceptional platform. You'll work alongside other Underwriters to underwrite businesses to onboard as merchants processing cards on Visa, MasterCard, etc. Only applications and resumes submitted in English will be considered. Job Description The Underwriter will report to the Underwriting Manager and is primarily responsible for reviewing all incoming merchant applications not automatically or systematically approved. The underwriter is tasked with ensuring that they comply with the goals, objectives and standards of the organization in order to meet customer satisfaction and deadlines. The underwriter must remain properly trained and understand their goals and performance requirements. The major duties of the Underwriter are: Review merchant applications in accordance with the credit policy Review and interpret financial documents to build supportive credit recommendations Communicate with merchants and partners Review transaction monitoring flags in accordance with the risk policy Refine tools and processes to meet the portfolio needs Perform other underwriting related duties as assigned Experience and Requirements Minimum three (3) years of merchant and/or payment experience in the financial, ISO or agent environment Demonstrated experience with spreading balance sheets, P&Ls and cash flow statements Demonstrated experience with interpreting financial statements into a narrative that identifies credit risk and mitigants Comfortable working in consistently evolving and fast paced environments Ability to comfortably and professionally interact with CFOs and CEOs of all business types from SMB to enterprise Independently takes ownership of process and policy improvements
