How you can make your markAs Commercial Manager Projects you get the unique opportunity to make your mark in the adventurous yet highly professional world of maritime salvage (emergency response, environmental protection and wreck removal). You will support the Business Unit management with developing and realizing new business opportunities and lead the tender processes within Salvage. You conduct market research, focusing on complex wreck removals, offshore energy market calamities and prevention, environmental solutions, new business concepts, and project funding. You are abreast of developments in salvage and the wider maritime industry and developments in applied technology and develop long-term relations with relevant clients and other companies, authorities, technical consultants, P&I clubs, and other relevant parties. You will report to the Managing Director Salvage.Your responsibilities as a Commercial Manager ProjectsInitiate and lead business development efforts and networking opportunities both with client groups and sub-contractors/supply chain.Initiate and further develop business opportunities for complex wreck removal and projects.Propose possible bid strategies and partnering opportunities.Draw up a Tender and Progress Plan.Initiate and follow up on all actions of tender processes in accordance with the company's quality system "Way of Working" and manage and monitor the relevant staff departments for their deliverables.Consult and engage with clients to obtain required information and visit the project site if necessary.Actively engage with the supply chain to identify capabilities necessary for the realization of projects and evaluate proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.Compile the complete bid documentation in consultation with the Operations Director and Managing Director.Provide input for the commercial/pricing strategy and risk management to the Management Team based on all data obtained for a tender.Present proposals to clients, clarify and negotiate the contract.Fulfill a coordinating role in joint venture offers where the interests of SMIT Salvage and the Boskalis group must be protected.Your qualitiesTo be a successful Commercial Manager Projects at SMIT Salvage you must have a commercial and competitive drive, as well as the ability to rapidly build relationships in an international playing field. Being able to recognize the various interests of the different stakeholders involved is key. You are a team player and a persuasive conversation partner, find it easy to communicate at various levels, and are mindful of cultural differences at all times. You have strong analytical skills, with a proactive and hands-on approach. Creativity and decisiveness are characteristics that fit you.
