Oceana in Brazil is based in Brasília and works with governments, society, the private sector, NGOs, and scientists to pursue improvement in public policy regulating fishing activities, combating marine pollution, and protecting habitats.
Under our structure, the Communications Analyst is in charge of supporting the implementation of communication strategies aimed at promoting Oceana's mission.
His or her duties include developing and executing plans and actions related to campaigns and events, creating content for different platforms, and carrying out institutional communication actions.
The professional will work on a variety of tasks - from producing text and audiovisual content to organizing files and providing support on internal documents.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
- To develop communication plans for events, actions and campaigns in line with the organization's strategies.
- To create, review and publish press releases and articles for the website.
- To prepare and conduct interviews.
- To produce and edit videos and photos, when necessary, and carry out photo and video coverage during events.
- To support production of internal documents and meeting demands from Oceana International, including weekly and annual reports and memos.
- To collect budgets and monitor the production of offline materials.
- To create relationships and mobilization in Oceana's campaigns.
- To organize folders, files and photos in the cloud, as well as media kits.
- To carry out institutional communication actions as necessary.
**Academic Background and Professional Experience Required**:
- Degree in Social Communication, Journalism, Organizational Communication, Public Relations, or Advertising.
- Experience in researching for and writing journalistic texts; event coverage; and corporate and institutional communication.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Basic knowledge of video and photo editing tools (such as Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, etc.).
- Familiarity with project management tools and file organization in the cloud.
- Experience with events and real-time media coverage.
