Job summary Liberty Mutual's Insurance is hiring a Compliance Officer to develop, lead, and administer Brazil's compliance programs. In this new risk-bearing entity, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance activities and policies and ensure alignment with the company's global compliance program and all aspects of business is conducted in accordance with regulations and laws and company standards. This includes developing and maintaining a culture of commitment to compliance and ethics through communication and educational efforts to ensure ongoing conformance to Liberty Mutual's Code of Business Ethics and Conduct and related policies and procedures.Key Tasks & Responsibilities Ensure all aspects of the business comply with Brazilian laws and regulations, and that all compliance activities are integrated into all business objectives and activities. (e.g., tracking regulations, disseminating information, ensuring operational changes to meet regulatory requirements)Provides proactive compliance and ethics advice to protect and advance the business and enable key business strategies and Ongoing risk assessments as prioritized with Global Compliance and Ethics (GC&E).Coordinates related regulatory requirements and reporting to the entity Management, Board, and Compliance Committee and Officers whilst advising on a broad range of compliance issues.Provides compliance and ethics advice on a wide range of applicable laws and regulations, and to enable regulatory risk identification assisting in the assessment, measurement, and management of the entity' material risk including anti-corruption.Collaborates with the global compliance team to implement compliance programs and initiatives aligned with the company's global compliance strategy. Drive the development and implementation of compliance training, programs, knowledge, processes and systems designed to educate and address any gaps. Assist where necessary assigned employees involved with compiling and preparing timely responses to the appropriate conduct activity coordinated by GC&E.Spearheads the company's ethical culture within the Brazilian operation, aligned with the company's Code of Business Ethics and Conduct, high standards of integrity, and our identity and values.Communicates with business partners about global compliance policies and standards and local compliance policies and procedures, including compliance and ethics training and communications.Conducts compliance risk assessment and ensure implementation of effective mitigation strategies to reduce local and global compliance risks.Manages the operation's whistleblowing channel and collaborates with the company's global compliance team on internal compliance inquiries and investigations.Partners with cross-functional teams and control functions to promote integrated assurance and control frameworks.Provide input, advice, and effective challenge to initiatives and business decisions that may materially affect the entity's compliance profile.Participation in governance committees, as deemed appropriate to fulfill these responsibilities.Serve as primary contact for entity Regulator Authority.Keep abreast of current industry trends and regulationAlways demonstrate behavior in line with the Liberty core values.Perform other related duties as required. QualificationsLaw degree7+ years relevant experience preferably in insurance or financial servicesCompliance and/or legal experience in professional practice or corporate entity with extensive practical understanding of the legal/regulatory environment in the (COUNTRY) insurance industryDemonstrated track record in implementing/maintaining a compliance program that meets legal and regulatory requirementsStrong relationship management and presentation skills.Excellent working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems CompetenciesCommercial awareness with a strong business acumen and customer focusExceptional analytical skills with a proven ability to work with excellent attention to detailAbility to challenge established procedures and drive through appropriate changesExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and work with people throughout the business and to drive comprehensive decision makingExcellent presentation, written and oral communication skillsFluency in EnglishAdvanced prioritization and time management skillsHighly proficient relationship building and influencing skillsAdvanced negotiation skillsHighly proficient interpersonal and emotional intelligence skillsExtensive business acumen skills
