Control system & Automation Technical Support EngineerHMH Brazil is looking for a highly motivated Automation & Control System Engineer to join our team. As a technical support engineer at HMH ESS, you will play a crucial role in providing onshore technical support, technically handling equipment and system installation & commissioning, and ensuring offshore efficient maintenance activities.Job ResponsibilitiesEngage in direct customer communication to accurately define the technical scope of work and provide input for service quotations to the project team.Perform maintenance, installation & commissioning of drilling equipment and systems, including meticulous technical planning, hands-on execution, and on-site supervision.Provide technical assistance to external customers, various departments within the company, and field service engineers, delivering prompt and qualified support.Contribute to product and innovation initiatives by conducting technical reviews, actively participating in discussions, and providing valuable input on upgrades & retrofits based on maintenance and operational feedback.Create well-structured technical reports, consistently documenting key findings, conducting root cause analysis, and capturing valuable lessons learned.Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and conduct technical trainings for customers and team members.Perform all work in adherence to global procedures and consistently apply best practices to ensure optimal performance and safety.Competences and SkillsCustomer-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on providing exceptional service and building long-term relationships with customers.Exceptional organizational and time management skills, enabling the efficient handling of multiple cases and tasks simultaneously.Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions.Excellent analytical abilities, enabling the thorough assessment of equipment performance, identification of potential faults, and implementation of appropriate corrective measures.Demonstrated self-learner, who excels at extracting knowledge from various sources. Should possess the ability to study and identify knowledge gaps for future clarification.Proficiency in English is required, and advanced Spanish is a plus.Proven ability to motivate and engage cross-functional teams, effectively delegating tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment to ensure the successful achievement of project goals and deliverables.HSSE mindset.Solid knowledge of Siemens Step7 & TIA Portal programming (IEC 61131-3), GE Fanuc - Cimplicity, Instrumentation, VFD & Electric Motors, Industrial Networks Fundamentals, and industrial IT.Required QualificationsEducation:Automation & Control System engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or equivalent degree).Industrial technician degree and post-graduate studies are advantageous.Experience:Desirable experience with PLC programming and with drilling rigs operations are preferred.Additional requirementsPossess active CREA (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia).Willingness and availability to undertake sporadic offshore and on-site assignments, as well as domestic and international travels for hands-on work.
