What You Will Do
The Controllership Analyst is responsible for executing the legal entity (LE) financial reporting process, ensuring the integrity and precision of the LE financial statements, tax filings, reporting packages, and other relevant reports.
Responsibilities will include streamlining month, quarter, and year-end closings within established timelines, handling high importance/complex items during entity closings, and managing local audits.
The Controllership Analyst requires strong analytical skills for Balance Sheet and P&L reviews and strong accounting knowledge for US GAAP and local GAAP technical discussions.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for executing accounting and daily operations for Legal Entity Accounting, specifically for the completeness and accuracy of IFRS Accounting, working closely with the Country Tax Centers (CTC).
This includes but is not limited to recording the statutory ledgers and maintaining accuracy of parallel ledgers (if applicable), focusing on ensuring the correct tax accounting and liaison/coordination with internal and external audit teams.
Understanding of each legal entity's jurisdiction to grasp the financial accounting and reporting procedures, considering the complexities and effect of local laws on the overall company's financial protocols.
Prepare and submit the financial statements, which includes the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, alongside local tax requirements, internal reporting packages, and other mandatory reports in alignment with established accounting standards.
Follow the close process, which includes month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounts for each legal entity within their jurisdiction.
Liaise with BU Finance teams to understand trends that may influence LE reporting and tax compliance due to local regulations.
Collaborate with Regional Controllership, Consolidations, and Technical Accounting teams to address intricate accounting issues.
Support external auditors for Legal Entity audits and monitor the progress of local audits, supplying necessary aid as required.
Generate ideas, foster, and implement continuous improvement mindset, identifying and pursuing process efficiency opportunities.
Regular focus on Balance Sheet reconciliations to minimize open items.
Stakeholder Interaction:
BU Finance Team: the Controllership Analyst will support BU Finance teams with regards to providing data for month-end performance analysis.
Consolidations and Technical Accounting: will actively connect with the Consolidations and the Technical Accounting team for guidance on complex accounting matters.
Regional Controllers: the Controllership Analyst will connect with the regional controllership teams on complex matters pertaining to entity financial reporting documents and other local filings, audit requests, etc.
Compliance: support auditors and legal authorities with the execution of required activities.
Also understand, adhere to, and execute worldwide policies and procedures.
Identify compliance risks and recommend solutions to remediate/prevent breach.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
3-4 years of proven experience in similar roles, preferably in a multinational company.
Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial legislation, and regulatory standards.
Strong analytical, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Prior experience in a Big Four accounting firm.
Desired Qualifications
Advanced English Level, other languages skills desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Effectively manage multiple priorities, maintain strong organizational skills, and meet tight deadlines.
Experience in leveraging SAP and Microsoft Power BI for data analysis and reporting is a plus.
