Overview:As the Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Product Manager, you are accountable for ensuring safe, consistent, and remarkable products that meet consumer, customer, and regulatory expectations aligned with General Mills requirements under the product category of your responsibility.This leadership role is part of the FSQ team and a member of the Innovation, Technology, and Quality (ITQ) organization. Your main role involves defining the vision and strategy for quality, product safety, and compliance with regulatory expectations for the product category under your responsibility.This function is a key member of the corporate leadership team of FSQ in Brazil. Participation in the business teams of the categories is essential, linking closely to the business strategy, where a strong influence in the entire value chain—including Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Sourcing, and Legal—is expected, acting as an ambassador advocating on behalf of consumers and customers.Partnered leadership across the Brazil FSQ organization is expected to ensure the staffing, development, and performance management of team members.Key Accountabilities:Develop and lead food safety, quality, and regulatory strategies related to the local product category.Act as a partner to support business goals and objectives while advocating for our consumers and customers.Work in partnership to drive improvement by challenging the status quo, benchmarking externally and internally, and leveraging your skills, your people, our in-house experts, tools, and best practices.Champion consumer-first product design and quality "as designed" and "as consumed" from concept through commercialization.Work closely with FSQ Site Leaders and the ESC FSQ team to support "as manufacturing," ensuring that plants consistently deliver products within specifications by championing the Turnover Process as projects transition to the core business product managers.Develop and implement Ways of Working models that keep the product category fast, agile, and focused on category business needs.Provide cross-functional organizational leadership in a rapidly evolving environment.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical, Food Science, Biology, Pharmaceutical, or a related field.Experience in quality, food safety, policies/standards, product development, and regulatory requirements, with solid experience in the food industry.Statistical process knowledge and applications to make data-based decisions.Strong experience leading individuals and teams, with a passion for developing talent and creating a strong culture across teams and locations.Fluency in English.
