The Accounting Manager is responsible for directing broad aspects of operations, including enforcement of accounting process and policies for and will oversee the future SAP ERP implementation in Brazil.
Must be a self-starter and work with limited direction while taking full ownership of the areas of responsibility and providing solutions and alternatives.The day-to-dayEnsure timely, consistent, accurate and relevant reporting to Corporate office and local managementManage Statutory & Group reporting standards and interface with outsourced accountants to ensure compliance with local accounting and regulatory requirementsPoint of contact and liaison with accounting/finance teams and outside service providersWork with tax team to ensure taxation compliance including transfer pricing, sales taxes and payroll taxesManage cash flow and timely payments to vendorsEnsure all accounting activities are compliant with statutory and legal requirementsEnsure timely review and approval of all balance sheet accounts, variance explanations and general ledger account reconciliationsEnsure compliance with SOX by promoting the Company's internal control policiesIdentify and help implement policies to improve efficiencyLiaise with various business partners such as legal, HR, Tax, and other functions to establish structure and processes for new international operationsPerform technical accounting research to ensure compliance with local GAAP, US GAAP and SOX, as applicableWhat you'll needBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with an accounting emphasis preferredBrazil accounting certification required (CRC) and experience in public accounting and audit at a Big4 accounting firmExperience in ERP implementation in Brazil, preferably with OracleA minimum of 6-8 years of technical accounting experienceManagement experience in a supervisory or management roleSelf-starter and highly motivatedAbility to work in a changing environmentTeam player who can demonstrate initiative, entrepreneurship, and sound judgmentExcellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and leadership skillsBi-lingual with strong Portuguese and English language skillsWhat will help you on the jobA successful candidate will have the following attributes and experience:Experience in telecommunication or technology industriesExperience with medium to large multinational companyStrong oral and written skillsCollaborative natureEEO StatementViasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
