Organizational Setting
The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization.
The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets, and the strengthening of cooperativism.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.
Technical Focus
To develop studies and produce technical documents that support proposals for structural measures to insert/expand the use of Pronaf by family farmers who are not satisfactorily covered by the Program.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Collect and systematize primary data on Pronaf, with a territorial and public cutout to be defined by the SAF/MDA coordination.
Carry out diagnoses of the use of Pronaf in Brazil and the gaps that hinder its expansion, based on secondary data.
Prepare technical documents to support the SAF/MDA in structural propositions to insert and/or expand the use of Pronaf by family farmers.
Assist in the presentation of the results of this study at appropriate forums during the contractual period, as per the request of the SAF/MDA coordination.
Participate in meetings/consultations linked to the execution of the assignment.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:
University Degree in Agricultural Sciences or Human Sciences, according to the CAPES/CNPq table of areas of knowledge.
Minimum experience of 08 (eight) years in programs or public policies aimed at credit to family farming, especially Pronaf.
Working knowledge (level C) of English or Spanish and Portuguese.
National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit.
