Primary Function

To provide strategic guidance and vision for the School of Business and Industry, as well as leadership of the administrative team, professional staff, and faculty.
Responsibilities

Planning the instructional offerings: develop, implement, supervise, evaluate and revise all relevant instructional programs, including courses, degrees and certificate programs.
Developing and directing the instructional staff and faculty: make recommendations concerning the appointment, evaluation, and retention of the professional staff and faculty; supervise the staff's day-to-day work; oversee the process of assigning instructors to courses.
Developing and managing the division instructional budget: develop and review priorities and needs for preliminary budget; administer the approved instructional budget.
Facilitating the instructional process: guide the selection and review of instructional materials; work with the library to ensure appropriate research resources are available for students and faculty.
Participating in the College's strategic planning process and the Division's strategic priorities.
Identifying opportunities for new credit and non-credit programs.
Participating in and initiating external partnerships and relationships to support program development.
Working with students and faculty to address student issues and resolve complaints and appeals.
Taking on special responsibilities as assigned by the Provost or the President.
Organizational Relationships

Responsible to the Provost/Vice President, Academic and Student Affairs for performance of assigned responsibilities.
Coordinates work with members of the School's administrative team and the other Schools.
Oversees staff and faculty within the School of Business and Industry.
Serves on the President's Cabinet.
Qualifications

Education: Doctorate in an academic discipline from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor institution preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Knowledge of current concepts in administration of instructional programs; ability to function effectively as a member of an instructional and managerial team; ability to plan and manage projects.
Experience: At least five (5) years teaching experience in higher education, preferably at the community college level; demonstrated competence in an administrative role in a higher ed or equivalent setting.
