As a Build Developer, you will play a critical role in supporting our FTE team with monthly servicing builds while also spearheading the development of tools and automation to streamline our release processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of our release pipeline efficiency and to address our backlog of tooling and automation tasks. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the existing development vendor to ensure timely support for monthly servicing builds. Design, develop, and maintain tools and automation solutions to optimize release team functions. Prioritize and tackle items from the release team's tooling backlog, with a focus on reducing manual interventions and improving overall efficiency. Develop automation scripts or tools to streamline the publishing of software updates or packages for Linux systems, reducing errors and minimizing workflow disruptions. Improve existing tracking systems to include information about security fixes and vulnerabilities, ensuring a comprehensive view of the software development lifecycle from bug identification to release. Incorporate planning documents and build manifests into central systems to support secure supply chain initiatives and facilitate collaboration among development teams. Strengthen the reliability of data handoff processes to external partners by minimizing manual interventions and potential errors in data transmission. Integrate automated scanning tools into the build process to identify potential issues early and automate the filing of bug reports, enhancing development efficiency. Develop monitoring systems to track package acquisition issues affecting customers, providing early warnings to prevent potential disruptions. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Proven experience in software development, preferably in a .NET environment. Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Experience with build automation tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions. Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git, TFS). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of security best practices and experience with security-focused tooling. Familiarity with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
