As the global Industrial Engineering leadership, align the manufacturing strategy of the industrial roadmap to all sites. Drive the master layout and line design of sites to the same standard while being flexible in fulfilling business needs, including shop floor or site consolidations. Also responsible for line & shop floor upgrades with i4.0 and BIC elements to achieve efficient High Mix Low Volume manufacturing.
Plan shop floor space utilization focusing on capacity utilization, considering different approaches like dedicated lines, work centers, and flexible cell line approaches in the layout. Manage overall capacity and capability planning for all sites, working concurrently and collaboratively with factory IE in roadmap execution and capex spending.
In NPI, be the owner of the Manufacturing Site Selection Process (MSSP) to identify the most appropriate and efficient site for new businesses, tying it to the overall manufacturing industrial roadmap.
Standard time standardization is a key alignment that allows sites to measure productivity using the same standard, leading to effective resource planning. In migrating to the Next Generation ERP (SAP S4 Hana), ensure the routing and work center format is the same for all sites. The global IE Director will be directly responsible for data setup and factory productivity measurement.
Furthermore, the IE Director will be involved in a critical product costing review to ensure job content and standard time used can be competitive. Additionally, manage automation opportunities with good ROI justification, implementation plans, and further opportunities with factory IE and ME teams.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Space & Layout Management
Work closely with Ops leadership to define directions and approaches that enhance factory performance.
Lead factory IE teams to accommodate company direction in maximizing production efficiency with various concepts in different lines, like work centers, dedicated, and cell lines.
Drive space efficiency in layout to ensure production expansion and new businesses are accommodated, maximizing output revenue per square foot.
Responsible for layout and relayout activities of factories, as the final approval.
Work closely with Lean team to ensure continuous improvement in both layout and process flow.
Capacity & Capability Management
Manage manufacturing industrial roadmap by reviewing new and existing business needs to ensure site capacity is sufficient.
Resource management covering labor, equipment, and critical resources, working out the most effective model groupings.
Review overall capex spending in all sites to ensure wise investments, considering asset transfer or upgrading.
Owner of the Manufacturing Site Selection Process (MSSP) in NPI to select the most appropriate factory and align with the roadmap.
Capability review based on New Products, New Processes, and latest equipment available, then plan for the annual budget, including replacement plans.
Standard Time & Productivity Management
Standardize standard time computation in AEI, using one method for all.
Overall owner of standard time setup in ERP to ensure standard productivity measurement is available.
Align standard time format using MTM and work center setup in ERP S4 Hana for all sites.
Drive for high line balancing rates in production to improve productivity.
Manage annual productivity improvement plans of all sites, as well as annual standard time adjustments.
Drive Standard Time validation annually in key critical models in Mass Production and NPI.
Product Costing Management
Review standard time set in NPI and spot potential automation opportunities for cost & quality improvement.
Work with factory NPI & PM teams in NPI costing review.
Handle marketing escalations in product costing, leading factory teams in costing review.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Based in Singapore with frequent travel to other manufacturing sites, including Mexico, Penang, Laguna, Cavite, and Thailand.

Strong manufacturing process knowledge.

EXPERIENCE:
Min. 20 years electronics manufacturing experience with automation design and deployment.
Preferably have box build, PCBA, product testing, or PSU testing process development experience.
Data analytics to drive decision-making.
Teams & projects management.
EDUCATION:
Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred. Other engineering or equivalent disciplines in electrical & electronic, mechanical with relevant hands-on experience will be considered.
