The Director, Project Management Organization is responsible for overseeing and leading the strategic and tactical functions of Projects within Clever Devices. The person will work across all departments within Clever Devices to gain a full understanding of projects deliverables and establish an efficient workflow that will allow the organization to meet our deliverables and have a positive impact on corporate revenue and client commitments.
The candidate should be a highly experienced leader and have an in-depth technical understanding of information technology applications in the various areas of transit with an emphasis on intelligent transportation systems as well as experience in operations planning, project management, quality and testing methodologies, and project completion. The Director, PMO is responsible for supporting business development, project management and delivery, and staff development. As other leadership positions at the company, this is a seller/doer position. We expect the candidate to be the lead, managing the complex projects, including with OEMs, and ensure a high level of quality of services provided by the team.

Primary Responsibilities:
Perform senior level client management, coordination and communication with agencies
Prepare project work plans, schedules and budgets with project teams and responsible for quality control
Responsible for assuring quality work products are consistently delivered to all strategic clients
Provide technical and program delivery thought leadership for the organization
Manage all facets of project management for the project teams under their supervision, tracking trends and making amendments to protocols, as necessary & overseeing projects from contract award to completion
Interface directly with clients, at a senior level, to discuss issues and questions relating to the timely completion of the project
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that client commitments are followed through during design and deployment.
Consult with clients/prospects, vendors, and internal personnel to discuss and validate estimates, coordinate business operations, and resolve issues
Chair and/or attend various internal project reviews and senior management site meetings
Implement project documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements
Implements change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations. Assesses change requests to determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk
Develop an effective communications strategy that ensures all project stakeholders are apprised of progress, updates, and risks across the firm.
Leads the development of project milestones and schedule of values/billings projection
Works with the Business Development managers to develop strategies for cultivating prospects and obtaining work
Skills Required:
15+ years' experience in project or program management
The ideal candidate will have transit project experience as well as 15 years of experience in a similar function for a technology firm. 5+ years in a leadership role in a technical or engineering environment
Successful candidate will have a history of developing and maintaining effective business relationships with clients and peers.
Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical discipline required
Masters degree in MIS or MBA preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP certification)
Strategic business focus and understanding; customer-focused perspective
Long-term focus and ability to make strategic recommendations and decisions surrounding difficult, complex and critical issues
Negotiation and conflict resolution skills; ability to build an open environment where conflicts as to project priorities and funding decisions can be aired and resolved in an objective manner
High level understanding of technical and integration concepts as related to the industry and products/services of the company
Ability to build and deliver executive-level summary reports and presentations
Demonstrated experience leading a team that excels at delivering technical solutions to external clients with a direct tie between project deliverables and revenue
Demonstrated experience building organizational relationships, partnering with and influencing leadership while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization
Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook as well as ability to learn software programs such as Axapta, SalesForce, D365
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written and presentation skills
