**About the position**: As Employment Counsel - LATAM, you will be responsible for and manage employment matters across Latin America as well as contribute to compliance for our operations across Latin America.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing growth of Globalization Partners across the Latin American region and globally.
**What you can expect to do**:
- Provide high quality oral and written legal advice concerning employment law matters throughout the region.
- Assist in developing creative approaches to managing legal risks and resolving disputes.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies.
- Partner across departments to build scalable and compliant processes and templates.
- Maintain current knowledge of national and local laws across the region.
- Assist with and supervise employment-related disputes and litigation including as a liaison with outside counsel.
- Participate in creation and delivery of training related to employment law matters.
- Potentially manage up to 2-4 other attorneys.
- Assorted legal team projects to address the needs of a global, high-growth company.
**What we are looking for**:
- Qualified to practice law in Brazil or another jurisdiction in the LATAM region.
- 5-8 years of combined employment law experience, including law firm practice and /or in-house.
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail, with expertise drafting and negotiating employment termination agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to make recommendations on difficult and sensitive labor and employee relations matters.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese.
Ability to speak Spanish is a strong advantage.
- Sound legal judgment, creative problem-solving ability, and analytical skills.
- Able to think on your feet, multitask, and prioritize.
- Ability to provide clear guidance on complex and sensitive issues with an appropriate sense of commercial risk.
