These will include eligible candidates from communities that typically aren't represented in the IFC workforce. The program will be targeted to underrepresented communities – black and/or brown citizens, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, persons with disabilities, indigenous populations, etc. The 2024 program is targeted to the black and brown community.ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES:The objective of this consultancy is to provide administrative and operational support to various IFC teams while providing the candidates with exposure to the WBG work. The purpose of this program is to give individuals broad exposure to competencies required for WBG openings. The consultant will be paired with a supervisor who will also serve as their Mentor.Each consultant will be paired with a Task Team Leader (TTL) and will support a broad range of administrative and other tasks. The specific scope of work for each intern will be identified in consultation with each TTL. The range of tasks can include the following:Conduct studies for a particular sector of interest and prepare an engagement plan for IFC in the defined sector.Establish a dialogue with industry teams in understanding their needs and envisioned plans.Support industry teams in research, editing and formatting reports, minutes, presentations.Other tasks as identified throughout the program.Selection CriteriaOne of the following conditions: (i) master's degree with at least two years of relevant market experience or an undergraduate degree with at least four years of relevant market experience, or equivalent professional experience in financial markets; (ii) Strong interest in financial markets and development, professional experience in the area will be a plus.Possess country and regional knowledge, including a solid understanding of the role of the private sector and the key drivers and constraints to foster development.Demonstrate good command of the economics of a particular sector & key drivers of sector growth, productivity, profitability & efficiency.Self-motivated and able to work in a diverse global team with the necessary soft skills.Contribute substantively to sector strategies and help identify investment opportunities and risks.Good business judgment and analytical decision making – Able to manage information and support retention and disposition of information and records.
