At WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil, we are looking for talented and experienced professionals to join our team in Brasilia. As Finance Officer, you will work under the general supervision and reports to the Centre´s Director. In this position you are expected to manage the stewardship of WFP's resources through monitoring financial and accounting data, analysing, reporting and providing technical advice to enable effective management of funds. You will also supervise staff, establish team priorities and prepare work plans.

WFP Centre of Excellence against Hunger in Brazil is a global hub for South-South Cooperation and capacity development in the areas of school feeding, food security and nutrition. It is an innovation that seeks to respond government and private sector demands for technical support to strengthen their national capacities and knowledge on sustainable school feeding and other food security programme and to support them in the design and implementation of these programmes. The position is based in Brasilia, Brazil, and reports to the Director and Representative. Work modality is in presence and the position is open to Brazilian Nationals only.
THE ROLE
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Support corporate finance and resource management strategies and major ongoing programmatic initiatives, participating where appropriate using finance and resource management expertise.- Analyse and report on key data for financial status and outcomes of projects in accordance with corporate governance requirements, ensuring accuracy, deadlines, and accounting processes are complied with.- Monitor and analyse budgets for new and ongoing projects according to established corporate procedures and requirements.- Perform bank reconciliations, disbursements, clearance of receivables, overall cash management and monthly financial closures on a regular basis in accordance with corporate requirements.- Where necessary, deliver core administrative services, working with contractors and following standard processes to provide cost-effective, quality and timely services to WFP staff.- Where necessary, undertake basic human resource functions related to staff benefits, recruitment of local staff, and training.- Track and analyse data to identify opportunities for improvements to policies, systems and procedures in order to minimise financial risks, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and ensure services are aligned with business objectives.- Deliver financial controls and insight into WFP performance, undertaking
